Arrest History in Greene County
The Greene County Sheriff's Office handles unincorporated patrol, warrants, booking, detention, and court security. Greensboro Police and Union Point Police create their own city incident and arrest narratives. Georgia State Patrol may hold traffic, DUI, or crash records; GBI may hold requested-investigation files; DNR Law Enforcement may hold lake or wildlife-enforcement records. E-911 maintains CAD and call audio, but not the arresting officer's narrative.
A Greene County arrest creates a chain of related records. The officer documents probable cause, jail staff create intake and custody entries, GCIC receives the fingerprint-supported cycle, Magistrate Court creates first-appearance and bond records, and prosecutors and trial courts create any filed case and final result. Those sources can use different charge language because an initial allegation is not the formal count or judgment.
Finding Recent Greene Arrests Without a Log
No official daily Greene County booking log, public arrest blotter, or Sheriff app was verified. Begin with the arresting agency and county jail, not a private gallery. Supply the full legal name and approximate arrest or booking date, then ask whether the person is currently held, booked and released, or transferred. Request the arresting agency, report number, booking number, charges or holds, bond, and release status.

Direct public phone, records-counter hours, and lobby rules were not verified. Confirm through the county's current Sheriff contact listing.
The official county page identifies the Sheriff as a separate constitutional office. View the source captured below.

That separation is why a Sheriff booking or arrest request must not be sent as though county administration were the custodian.
How to Look Up Greene County Arrests
Use a channel-complete search because no single Greene County arrest database answers every question. The order may change when an agency or case number is already known.
- Contact the arresting agency and Greene County jail for a recent booking, current custody, arrest narrative, or release and transfer information.
- If the agency is unknown, request Greene E-911 CAD material by date, time, and location to identify which unit responded.
- Check Magistrate Court for first appearance and bond, then Superior or municipal court for filed charges and the disposition.
- Inspect your own GCIC history through current local-law-enforcement procedures or an appointment at the GCIC lobby; use Georgia Felon Search only for its narrower public felony-conviction result.
- Send a focused open-records request to the actual custodian. Use the Board form for E-911 records, but request Sheriff records directly from the Sheriff.
After state sentencing or transfer, check GDC Find an Offender. VINELink may supply participating custody alerts, but it does not replace the official jail, court, or correctional record.
Greene E-911 Identifies the Arresting Agency
Greene E-911 is a useful fallback when several agencies could have responded and the requester does not know which one holds the report. Ask for CAD or 911 material with the event's date, time range, and location. The E-911 Center is at 1180 C Weldon Smith Drive, Suite 100, Greensboro, Georgia 30642, and its published phone is 706-453-1821.
Use the county open-records form for E-911 records because Communications is among the records the Board maintains. Its form asks for a detailed description, access choice, fee acceptance, name, email, phone, and optional address fields. The three-business-day rule is a deadline to produce, provide a timetable and estimate, or explain an exemption, not a promise that all records will be delivered in three days.
The official County Clerk page illustrates Board-level records routing. See the captured county source.

Use that route for county-held communications material, while sending arrest narratives and Sheriff booking records to their own custodians.
What an Arrest Record Shows
The public portions of a Greene County arrest and booking record may describe the event, asserted charges, intake, bond, and release. Protected identifiers and investigative material can be redacted.
| Event | Date, time, location, agency, report number, officer, and warrant or warrantless basis. |
|---|---|
| Subject identifiers | Name and basic descriptors; sensitive address and identification numbers may be withheld. |
| Allegations | Offense description, statute, count, and any releasable probable-cause narrative. |
| Booking | Booking number and time, fingerprints, transaction number, photograph, property, and facility. |
| Custody and bond | Holds, bond type or amount, Magistrate action, and release or transfer status. |
| Court cross-reference | Warrant and case numbers, later charging instrument, and final disposition when linked. |
| Booking photo policy | No official Greene blanket-publication policy was found; a photo does not establish guilt. |
Ask for segregable public portions when a record contains both open and protected material. Juvenile arrest and delinquency records are confidential.
Sheriff Record, Booking, Hearing, and Case
Four documents may describe one Greene County event without being duplicates. The arrest report gives the officer's account. The jail record proves intake and custody status. The Magistrate file shows early judicial action on first appearance or bond. The Superior file shows formal felony charges and the result if prosecution follows.
Record flow: Arresting Agency › Greene Booking › GCIC Arrest Cycle › Magistrate Review › Prosecutor › Trial Court Disposition
When the records conflict, identify what each source is built to answer. A jail release says the person left custody, not that the charge was dismissed. No Georgia Felon Search match can coexist with a booking because that public product is limited to qualifying Georgia felony-conviction information. A missing GCIC disposition calls for the Clerk's final record and an electronic correction, not a guess.
Recent Arrests and Booking Logs
Greene County did not publish a verified official roster in the sources reviewed. Do not treat an unofficial mugshot site as a substitute. A recent arrest may exist only in the arresting agency and jail systems before a court case is filed. An older booking may no longer appear in any current-custody view even though the agency and court still retain records.
Ask the jail for current status, booking and release information, and the arresting agency. Ask the agency for the incident or arrest narrative. Then call Greene Magistrate Court at 706-453-3346 for the early hearing trail. For a felony prosecution and certified final disposition, contact the Superior Court Clerk at 706-453-3340.
Note: Absence from a current-custody system proves neither that no arrest occurred nor that a prior case ended without a conviction.
Greene Custody Versus GDC Custody
Greene County jail custody and Georgia Department of Corrections status answer different questions. The county holds people booked locally, including pretrial detainees. GDC Find an Offender covers sentenced state offenders and should be checked after transfer or state sentencing, not as the first source for a new local arrest.
| GDC field | Use | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Last name | Primary name key | May need more detail for common names |
| First name | Narrows results | Optional or search-dependent |
| GDC ID | Direct state identifier | Not a county booking number |
| Result | May show status, location, offense, and sentence | Does not show a new county bond or jail pod |
The official GDC query is represented in the page image. View its source.

The state result can supplement a Greene County arrest search only when the person has entered state correctional custody or supervision.
Arrest Charge Versus Indicted Charge
An arrest charge records an officer's probable-cause allegation. The Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney may decline it, amend it, proceed by accusation, or seek a grand-jury indictment with different counts. The court judgment then supplies the result for each filed count. Treat the first booking label as the start of the process, not its final legal description.
- Arrest charge
- The allegation entered by the arresting agency at the time of custody.
- Filed charge
- The count formally pursued by the prosecutor in court.
- Disposition
- The judgment or other final action assigned to each court count.
- GCIC cycle
- The identity-linked arrest entry and later submitted disposition, which may lag behind the court.
The GBI explains how Georgia criminal histories contain arrest and disposition data. View the official source captured here.

For self-review, compare that identity-linked history with the Greene County Clerk's certified outcome when a disposition is missing or seems wrong.
Arrests vs Convictions
An arrest and a conviction are distinct records made by different offices. One shows that custody or a seizure occurred; the other requires a court finding or plea. Neither should be inferred from the other.
| Arrest record | Conviction record |
|---|---|
| Created by the arresting agency and jail | Created by the trial court and reported to GCIC |
| Shows an accusation and booking | Shows a guilty disposition on a filed count |
| Held by agency and custody systems | Held by the Clerk and state repository |
| May end in release, no charges, dismissal, or acquittal | May include sentence, appeal, restriction, or other later court action |
Note: A Greene County arrest is not proof of guilt, and many bookings do not result in a conviction.
VINELink Supplements Greene Custody Records
VINELink may provide participating custody-status notifications. It is useful for an alert, but it is not the legal booking record, the court disposition, or a guarantee that every Greene County custody change appears at the same time. Confirm current status with the jail or GDC and confirm the prosecution with the proper court clerk.
The custody-notification source appears in the captured image. View the official service source.

Use notifications as a prompt to verify the originating record, especially when release, transfer, and case status could be confused.
For a missing GCIC disposition after dismissal or another outcome, obtain the Clerk's final record and ask the court to transmit the correction electronically.
